What pixel pitch means

Pixel pitch is the distance between the centres of two LED pixels, measured in millimetres. Smaller pitch means more pixels in the same display area. More pixels can help text, images and graphics look smoother at close range.

If viewers are far from the display, they may not see a useful difference from an extremely fine pitch. A suitable project balances image quality with viewing conditions and budget.

Step 1: Identify the closest regular viewer

Ask where people will normally stand. The closest regular viewer is usually more important than the farthest possible viewer, because that person will notice whether text and images are comfortable to read.
