Product Description
CHEER OPTO helps match sending controllers and receiving cards to the LED display, cabinet and module system. This page explains the control chain in plain language, so first-time buyers know what information is needed before selecting a card.
How an LED Display Control System Works
A video processor or multimedia player prepares the content when required. The sending controller then distributes the display signal into the LED system. Receiving cards inside the cabinets or modules receive that signal and drive the LED modules according to the confirmed display configuration.
Video processors and multimedia players are introduced on the separate LED Video Processors & Multimedia Players page. This page focuses on the two components that must match the LED screen itself: the sending controller and receiving card.
What Does Each Component Do?
| Component | Its Role | What Must Be Matched |
|---|---|---|
| Sending Controller / Sending Box | Sends the configured display signal into the LED screen control chain. | Total pixel load, output layout, screen quantity and system topology. |
| Receiving Card | Receives the signal inside the cabinet or module and controls the LED display output. | LED module, scan design, driver IC, cabinet wiring and display requirement. |
| LED Module | Produces the final image after receiving the correct control data. | Module dimensions, pixel pitch, scan method and IC configuration. |
NovaStar Control Families at a Glance
| Series | Product Type | When It Is Used |
|---|---|---|
| MCTRL Series | Sending controller | For the sending side of an LED display system, selected around required capacity and output topology. |
| MRV Series | Receiving card | For standard module and cabinet control, matched to the installed LED module specification. |
| Armor Series | Receiving card | For receiving-card applications where the selected module and project configuration require the Armor family. |
| Mooncell Creative Display Solutions | Creative display control solution | For irregular-shape, custom and creative LED display projects. Configuration is confirmed by project design. |
Important: The exact model is selected only after CHEER confirms the LED module and screen configuration. Sending controllers and receiving cards are not interchangeable products.
Other Compatible Control-Card Options
Colorlight sending and receiving-card solutions can be selected for LED display projects where the module, cabinet configuration and existing control-system compatibility have been confirmed. The final model is matched to screen resolution, output layout and installed LED modules.
Huidu receiving-card options are selected only after confirming the LED module and project configuration. Huidu A Series multimedia players are covered separately under video playback solutions, rather than treated as receiving cards.
How to Match Cards to Your LED Screen
- Identify the screen type. Is it fixed installation, rental, LED poster, fine-pitch or a creative-shape display?
- Confirm the screen data. Provide display size, pixel pitch, total resolution and cabinet quantity.
- Confirm the module data. Module photo or specification, module size, scan method and driver IC are essential for receiving-card matching.
- Confirm the signal route. Let us know whether the system uses a video processor, multimedia player, sending controller or existing equipment.
- Confirm operating requirements. Tell us whether the project needs backup, long-distance transmission, multiple screens or other confirmed special functions.
Project Matching Examples
| Project | Control-System Starting Point | Information CHEER Needs |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed LED Video Wall | Sending controller plus receiving cards matched to the installed modules. | Module specification, cabinet layout, screen resolution and content source. |
| Rental LED Display | A project-matched sending and receiving-card configuration for the cabinet system. | Cabinet type, screen size, live workflow and any backup requirement. |
| Creative or Irregular Display | Creative control configuration, including Mooncell where applicable. | Design drawing, module structure, screen geometry and control requirement. |
FAQ
Can I choose a receiving card only by pixel pitch?
No. Pixel pitch alone is not enough. The module’s scan method, driver IC, wiring and cabinet design must also be confirmed.
Is a sending controller the same as a video processor?
No. A video processor handles supported video signals. A sending controller distributes the configured display signal into the LED control system.
Can CHEER match cards to an existing LED display?
Yes. Send clear photos of the module, cabinet and existing card labels, together with the screen size and project requirement.
Send CHEER your LED module photo or specification, screen size, pixel pitch, application, existing equipment and any special requirements. We will recommend a compatible sending-controller and receiving-card configuration.
